Resumo

The present work aims to perform an experimental study of a low cost solar collector and its construction, to transform the solar radiation into thermal energy usable for daily consumption. By collecting temperature data it was possible to analyze the temperature gradient, the temperature of the pipes and the collector temperature throughout the day. The collector assembly system was satisfactory, since it was possible to show elevated temperatures inside the greenhouse. The insulation system of the hoses was satisfactory, since there was little heat loss along the pipes. The load losses promoted in the system caused a return flow in the inlet pipe, evidenced by the high temperatures at the collector inlet. This type of system can be a good alternative for domestic and hygiene purposes, contributing for example to reducing energy costs and sustainable use, because renewable energy (solar) is used throughout the heating process.
