Resumo

Economic growth and quality of life depend entirely on the amount of electricity offered. However, this dependency has increasingly increased the consumption of electric energy, besides demanding a better quality as to its supply. In the context of electric power generation, transmission and distribution systems, transmission lines are essential elements for the transportation and flow of electric power, from generating plants to consumers. During transmission of electric power, the transmission lines, which connect from the towers, remain exposed to several natural factors, such as the presence of winds and temperature variations. In this way, it is necessary to prepare an electromechanical design of an aerial transmission line for its proper operation. In this type of project, analyzes are carried out to predict transient and extreme occurrences above normal operating conditions. One of the stages of this project concerns the dimensioning of the catenary curve, which represents the deformation that occurs in the conductors of the aerial transmission lines, forming an arrow along its path. This work presents the development of software for the dimensioning of the catenary curve, in order to assist in the development of an electromechanical design of a transmission line. Initially, a study was carried out on the aerial transmission lines, analyzing all the factors that would interfere in the calculation of the catenary curve. From this study, It was determined classes using Python programming language for software development and for the design of the catenary curve. The results obtained were satisfactory based on the standards used, providing a precise dimensioning of the catenary curve and serving as a basis for future works.
