Abstract

Entrepreneurship is essential for the development of any country or region of the world, as they provoke social inclusion and help people with jobs and income generation. In the last decades it has been gaining space and presenting a significant growth, due to the serious context of unemployment of the country. In the case of Brazil and Rio Grande do Norte, it is no different, the rates of enterprises are intensifying more and more. However, due to the lack of data at the local level, a project was created in order to ascertain the entrepreneurial characteristics and character of the entrepreneurs of the municipalities of this state. In this sense, this work shows a research done in the city of João Dias - RN, whose objective is to analyze the characteristics of the ventures and profile of the local entrepreneurs. A questionnaire was used as a research tool for the purpose of obtaining information from the entrepreneurs and enterprises to analyze the results, the issues covered ranged from the gender to the main difficulty encountered in the local enterprises. With the information collected the research done in the city's trade, the female class presented more number in relation to the male group. It was verified that 70% of the trades are not registered in the city of João Dias-RN. The city presents a young commerce with potential growth, with possibility for advantageous investments, and a lack of use of the technology coming from the almost no use of public loans by the entrepreneurs of the city of João Dias-RN.
