Abstract

Microstrip antennas are increasingly being the subject of scientific studies due to the wide range of applications, model versatility, signal transmission range as well as small size possibilities. In this contexto, the constant search for dielectrics that meet the needs of these microwave devices for the implementation of small projects has boosted research in the area of ceramic materials, especially materials that have high availability in the region where the research is being conducted. In this context, ceramic materials from industrial process waste are very useful because they take advantage of what would be rejected or would have spent the energy and time to reenter the process. Based on this idea, this work aims to propose a type of ceramic substrate obtained from a waste material line of a cement industry. Tricalcium Carbonate (CaCO3) and Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) are collected in a limestone mine located in Quixeré / CE. The material goes through the pre-homogenization process and then through a grinding process to obtain the final blend. Thus, the design and performance analysis of this element as a substrate operating in the C band frequency region at 5.8 GHz will be addressed for future applications in signal transmission and/or reception devices
