Abstract

The compaction of the soil has been an important object of study when it comes to the cultivation of the most varied crops. To obtain a better relation of this process it is important to identify the effects of soil-machine interaction, as well as the characteristics of the soil structure itself. Understanding the power of the surface cover of the soil is also of extreme importance when it comes to the reuse of materials already used in previous crops. The compressive behavior of the soil can offer a differential of the development of any cultivar to be implanted, since it identifies the real situation of the soil, in the most diverse depths. In this context, the present work tries to show the compressive behavior of the soil in three types of different depths and also to evaluate the effect of the residues incorporated in the soil, correlating the soil density with the structural porosity. Soil and mulch samples were collected, sent to the laboratory and analyzed for organic matter content, nitrogen and compaction conditions. In order to collect the undisturbed soil sample, it was necessary to install the drip irrigation system throughout the area. With this, the soil moisture and density indexes, with the compression index and the pre-compaction pressure of the soil were verified and compared. With the relationships and values obtained, it was possible to perceive the soil compaction conditions in the three different depths.
