Abstract
The present work addresses the study about the characterization of the thermo-resistive sensors, PTC and NTC, in the Matlab software programming environment. The characterization has as finality is to determine the parameters of the sensor that determines the temporal response of the sensor. In order to perform the characterization of these thermo-resistive sensors, thermal rehearsals were performed related to their static and dynamic behavior, where they are known as static and dynamic characterization, respectively. The static characterization is divided into 2 (two) rehearsals. In the first rehearsal, it is determined the electrical resistance of the sensor at ambient temperature and the thermal coefficient are determined. In the second rehearsal, it is determined the thermal conductance of the sensor. In the dynamic characterization, it is determined the time constant. With the results obtained of the thermal rehearsals and computational tools of curve fitting, it was obtained the characterizations of the thermo-resistive sensors. The results reached presented themselves satisfactory with a reasonable agreement with the theoretical basement of this work, proving the veracity of the experimental data.
