| dc.description.abstract2 | The objective was to analyze the physiological responses of Kankrej cows exposed to high temperatures and solar radiation throughout the day, as well as to analyze their ability to adapt in the semi-arid region. For this, 12 cows that were lactating during the day, between 7 am and 5 pm, were analyzed. Data on physiological variables were collected, such as: rectal temperature, respiratory rate, body surface temperature and heat from skin evaporation, while data on environmental variables were: air temperature, wind speed, relative air humidity and global temperature. black in sun and shadow. With this it was possible to notice that even though the animals were exposed to solar radiation all day, they did not have physiological changes that would cause any thermal stress, according to the analysis of physiological variables, they were all in good condition. It was also observed that the environmental variables, air temperature, globe temperature and ITGU showed a positive correlation with the physiological variables and relative humidity had a negative correlation, all significantly. It is possible to note, according to all data analyses, that the respiratory frequency of Kankrej cows remains stable throughout the day in the semi-arid region and that when the air temperature increases, there is a direct response to heat loss through skin evaporation, This is the main way to control body temperature. | |
