Abstract
Due to the increased needs for to diversify energy matrix, is found, currently, many studies aimed at energy production from alternative sources. Seen in these terms, this work intended to present results of a study from production of biodiesel of coconut oils extra virgin e crude with waste (resulting from the decanting of coconut oil extra virgin, whose do not have an food sector application, the most part, for use in soap production). These were subjected to characterization in relation to their physicochemical properties and have been testing find the best molar ratio oil:alcohol that provided maximum conversion of triglycerides in esters in the production of biodiesel. Thus, the variable provided the greater effect was the direct transesterification from methyl route and acid catalysis using sulfuric acid (H2SO4) as a catalyst for both oils. The produced biodiesel were subjected to characterization in relation to their physicochemical properties and some data were very satisfactory, when compared with parameters established by ANP RESOLUTION No. 45 of August 25, 2014, which governs the biodiesel pecifications. Among the studies performed revealed that the biodiesel derived from coconut oil crude with waste, produced by methyl route with acid catalysis and molar ratio of 1:3 (oil:alcohol) has presented all specifications according to the ANP reference values, showing satisfactory results.
