Relatório de estágio supervisionado obrigatório: gerência executiva de educação ambiental – Prefeitura Municipal de Mossoró

The excessive use of natural resources has been causing damage to the environment over the years, due to inappropriate actions such as deforestation, improper disposal of domestic and industrial waste, causing pollution of water resources. Concomitant to this, there were awareness movements about the sustainable use of natural resources, which were introduced through environmental education. Schools have a fundamental role in this process, considering that it is one of the fundamental tools for the formation of individuals. Based on this, the objectives of this report were to carry out actions aimed at environmental education in schools in Mossoró, to carry out a study aimed at identifying the main pollution points of the Apodi-Mossoró River. In schools, lectures were held to raise awareness among parents and students, as well as the distribution of seedlings and afforestation at the school. Visits were made to different points of the city in order to identify the main points of pollution near the river banks. Environmental education actions face great challenges, as they need financial and human resources to carry out their activities, and public authorities cannot always bear these costs. Therefore, it is important to make the population aware of the sustainable use of natural resources in order to ensure the survival of present and future generations.
