| dc.description.abstract2 | The objective of this study was to determine the effect of different doses and formulations of the protease Precizyon PRO 50 in the diet of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), observing zootechnical performance, digestibility, and fillet quality. The effect of the protease at different concentrations was evaluated, comparing the results of different doses in the diet and their contributions to improving zootechnical performance, digestibility, and fillet quality, as well as histological alterations such as intestine, liver, and spleen, aiming to arrive at the best doses of the protease Precizyon PRO 50 for supplementation. Two experimental studies were applied, observing the following theoretical framework: the potential and growth of aquaculture in Brazil, based on studies by Rocha (2013), Jena et al. (2017), and the Brazilian Aquaculture Association (2021), highlighting the characteristics of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) production, which is significant in the country; This study examined the digestion and enzymatic physiology of the studied species, highlighting studies by Moreira et al. (2021), Solovyev et al. (2017), and Marcelino (2021); the use of enzymes in fish feed and their results, referencing studies by Azaza et al. (2023), Sgnaulim (2019), and Shadieva et al. (2020); and recent evidence and research gaps based on the following studies: Gomes (2018), Marcelino (2022), Schneider (2022; 2024), Silva (2024), Rosseto (2024), and Souza (2025). Both experiments aimed to highlight aspects that could reinforce the evidence already studied regarding the use of the protease Precizyon PRO 50 in the diet of Nile tilapia, as well as the results and gaps, in order to overcome them. Thus, in the first experiment, the ideal dose was determined by conducting comparative experiments in six treatments, each with six replicates, and 25 fish per experimental unit. The treatments were carried out at increasing doses of 0, 25, 50, 75, 100, and 125 g/t of protease. In the second experiment, the protease doses for supplementation in tilapia diets were validated, following observations in the sequence of treatments performed in the first experiment: (1) Positive Control (PC), meeting all nutritional requirements; (2) Negative Control 50 (NC50), with a 50% reduction based on the Precizyon PRO 50 matrix; (3) Negative Control 100 (NC100), with a 100% reduction; (4) Negative Control 150 (NC150), with a 150% reduction; (5) NC150 supplemented with 50 g/t of Precizyon PRO 50 and (6) NC150 supplemented with 75 g/t of Precizyon PRO 50. The results indicate that the addition of Precizyon PRO 50 to Nile tilapia diets significantly improved nutrient digestibility, growth, intestinal structure, and fillet quality. Optimal levels of Precizyon PRO 50 were found to be between 71 and 77 g/t. Supplementation of the diets with 50–75 g/t of Precizyon PRO 50 effectively mitigated the performance deficits caused by reduced amino acid levels, thus improving growth, fillet yield, and overall health. It was concluded that the appropriate dose for optimal performance is exogenous Precizyon PRO 50, to be used in the dietary supplementation of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), which achieves good performance in zootechnical parameters, digestibility, and improved fillet quality. | |
