| dc.description.abstract | Atualmente, no ano de 2025, a energia eólica offshore se destaca como uma possível alternativa para a diversificação da matriz energética mundial, impulsionada pela necessidade de diminuir a dependência de fontes fósseis e reduzir os impactos ambientais das mudanças climáticas, trazidas por crises energéticas passadas. No Brasil, o Rio Grande do Norte apresenta um dos maiores potenciais para a geração dessa modalidade de energia, sendo um estado estratégico para futuros empreendimentos offshore. Neste trabalho é feita uma revisão bibliográfica documental, o qual teve como objetivo traçar o panorama atual da energia eólica offshore no estado potiguar, diante do contexto brasileiro e do mundo. Além disso, discute-se o papel das legislações ambientais e os desafios regulatórios ambientais e estruturais para sua execução. Os processos de licenciamento desses empreendimentos estão aumentando exponencialmente, enquanto há uma escassez de estudos rigorosos sobre as especificidades dos impactos ambientais das usinas eólicas offshore no ecossistema marinho brasileiro, com um prazo curto para começar suas operações, evidencia a necessidade de debates e iniciativas verdadeiramente aprofundadas sobre o tema. | |
| dc.description.abstract2 | Currently, in the year 2025, offshore wind energy stands out as a potential alternative for diversifying the global energy matrix, driven by the need to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and mitigate the environmental impacts of climate change, which have been exacerbated by past energy crises. In Brazil, the state of Rio Grande do Norte holds one of the greatest potentials for generating this type of energy, positioning itself as a strategic location for future offshore ventures. This study conducts a documentary literature review aimed at outlining the current landscape of offshore wind energy in Rio Grande do Norte, considering the Brazilian and global contexts. Furthermore, it discusses the role of environmental legislation and the regulatory, environmental, and structural challenges involved in its implementation. The licensing processes for these projects are expanding exponentially, while there remains a shortage of in-depth studies on the specific environmental impacts of offshore wind farms on Brazil’s marine ecosystem. Given the short timeframe for these operations to commence, this highlights the urgent need for deeper discussions and well-founded initiatives on the subject. | |
