Resumo

The world population's demand for electric energy has been growing exponentially in the last decades, allowing power systems to become increasingly complex so that consumption can be uninterrupted and with a high quality of service. As sources of electric power, synchronous machines have a very important contribution to the electric system, which can supply, in large part, the consumption of electric energy demanded by the population of a region. Therefore, the detailed study on the operational behavior of these machines has improved over time, making it necessary to model them properly, in order to maintain their synchronism and their stability in the face of various transient situations that may occur during their operation, such as short circuits at its terminals and sudden losses of load. In this way, the objective of this work is to perform the modeling of a three-phase synchronous generator of protruding poles in a simulation software for the evaluation of its behavior under some conditions in a permanent regime and in a transitional regime. The results evaluated demonstrate the behavior of the synchronous generator and its ability to operate to maintain its synchronism and the stability of the system connected to it.
