Resumo

At the present time, organizations, whether small, medium or large, are confronted with a highly competitive market, making them seek updated tools that, in response, enter the competitive market and meet the demands of the consuming public. Thus, integrated management software has gained notable prominence in the current market, with the promise of increasing profits by integrating information. Therefore, this study was conducted with the purpose of answering the problem: How can a medium-sized company use the ERP system as a tool for differentiation and competitiveness in the current market? The present work, exploratory, has a qualitative research approach, and a case study to evidence the results, analyzing, then, the process of implementing an ERP system in a medium-sized sales company. The data were obtained through structured interviews and observations, in order to know more specific and relevant data for the work. The evidence obtained in this research allowed us to confirm and confirm aspects already observed in other studies, as well as to demonstrate that despite the difficulties faced, the benefits gained from ERP implementation are compensatory.
