Resumo

The process of powder metallurgy or sintering as well as known, consists of transforming metallic and non-metallic powders into resistant parts without using melting, using only pressure and heat. This work had as objectives the preparation of molds to obtain samples for sintering as well as the analysis of the compaction ratio with the application of different pressures. For this purpose, the 2D design of two matrices and two punches (upper and lower) were used to obtain the samples using SOLIDWORKS 2017 student version. The samples were produced using AISI 316 stainless steel, establishing different pressures, and a mass variation, in order to obtain different heights. After the samples were sintered at a temperature of approximately 1000 ° C, for 45 min. Then the effects of the pressures were analyzed, which resulted in obtaining compaction ratios varied. In the sintering, visibly what was expected, when compared to the literature, the samples deformed, causing dimensional changes, making them more resistant in comparison to the green compacted. The results obtained allowed to make a previous analysis of the behavior of sintering parameters such as compression pressure and compacted area.
