Resumo

The Baccalaureate in Science and Technology (BCT) is an interdisciplinary first cycle course created by the Restructuring and Expansion Plan of the Federal Universities (REUNI) aiming at completion rate of face-to-face undergraduate courses for 90%, increasing access and improving the higher level. To this end, there was a restructuring of federal universities in academic and curricular aspects. This restructuring made the number of new entrants to higher education courses in Brazil grow, but the evasion that was already a problem also increased. And with its increasing increase, it becomes increasingly necessary to analyze its real causes with a view to a significant reversal of this process. The objective of this work is to quantify the avoidance in the course of Science and Technology daytime Mossoró campus analyzing the causes of these dropouts, arriving at possible solutions to this problem. For this purpose, a thorough investigation of enrollments was carried out, canceled, locked, unlinked, abandoned. In order to identify the causes of high evasion, questionnaires were applied, pointing out some faults, from the point of view of the evaded students, and through the analysis of their answers we reached possible improvements that must be made to try to solve the problem, thus increasing the permanence of students.
