Caracterização do fluxo de BR405 na cidade de Pau dos Ferros/RN: interferência do tráfego de veículos pesados na mobilidade local

The BR-405 is an important connecting highway connecting the cities of Cajazeiras / PB to Mossoró / RN. It also serves as an alternative route to BR-116. This highway is configured as a main avenue of Pau dos Ferros-RN and thus cause significant interference in the local vehicle flow in the central area, especially by the presence of heavy traffic, which causes great impact on the day of population, as well as damage to local infrastructure, especially with regard to paving and urban mobility. The objective of this work is to characterize and classify the flow and to analyze the impacts caused by the BR - 405 traffic that cuts the city of Pau dos Ferros / RN. His main justification for this work comes from the perception of the importance that the theme covers, and the problems arising from this heavy flow in BR-405, interfering with quality of life of people in the study area, observing the lack of signage and safety for pedestrians and for the drivers themselves during the whole route of the highway that crosses the urban area of this city, considered the most important of the region of the Potiguar "High West". This work was carried out based on a traffic research characterized by volumetric counting and classification of traffic composition, and field research to investigate some impacts of the heavy traffic flow in the urban area. It is clear that the presence of the highway in the central area of the city with its characteristic traffic, is an intervening factor in the problems of displacements in the city of Pau dos Ferros among other interferences. The creation of a ring road, although most scholars admit to being a high-cost solution for deployment, is presented a priori as the best solution to the problem under study, improving the well-being of the population.
