Abstract
The present study aims to study the behavior of the elastic line with a non-linear model, that is, without approximations. After a theoretical revision of beams, differential equations and numerical methods, the elastic line is discussed for the more general case and when we disregard approximations in the beam deflection study, the work leads to a non-linear fourth differential equation that gives results of deflections. After a reduction of order, a system of first-order differential equations is obtained which is solved by the Euler numerical method, obtaining as a solution the deflection curve of the beam.
