Resumo

In Civil Engineering, the topography is a science present in all stages of the process of realizing a project, allowing to know the characteristics of the surface of the terrain. The topographic works are associated with the use of different methods and instruments that allow the obtaining of important information in a certain area. The objective of this study is to compare the data obtained by using Total Station, Android GPS application and GPS navigation receiver, which are processed in differentiated software. The Total Station was taken as bases for comparison with the others. For the accomplishment of this analysis, a planialtimetric survey was developed in an area located between RN-223 and the entrance of the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid, Caraúbas campus. The methodology adopted consisted of two steps: data collection in the field and data processing in the office. The analysis was possible through the comparison of data collected in the field organized in tables and graphs, and also through three-dimensional surfaces and contours generated from the use of these data. Based on the results obtained, it was verified that related to Total Station, the cellular application presented a mean linear error of 1.13 m, while the navigation GPS showed a mean linear error of 1.93 m. Regarding the surfaces generated by the GPS receivers, related to Total Station, the cellular application, although it has a lower degree of precision, presented little differentiated surfaces. Regarding the use of GPS navigation, there are considerable discrepancies in the contours and elevations formed and is therefore not recommended for activities related to surface representation and land sizing.
