Resumo

Based on an analysis of the current water picture, water consumption and the scarcity of this resource is gradually increasing, the present study identified the possibility of sustainable management of water resources for the Brazilian semi-arid region and sought to study the potential for reuse of water. Water generated from the air central of the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid, Câmpus Pau dos Ferros, for reuse alternatives. In fact, this research is directed at ascertaining the quantitative and qualitative parameters of the effluent generated from the air condensing machines. In order to do this, it was necessary to divide the study into three important stages: (I) to collect information on the use and occupation of air plants through questionnaires applied to users and responsible for handling the control of the plants; (II) perform daily volumetric measurements, with each shift and recording the quantities in spreadsheets; (III) to carry out tests and microbiological (total coliform and Escherichia Coli) and physical-chemical analyzes (turbidity, electrical conductivity, Ph and apparent color) in order to verify the reuse potential for non-potable purposes directed to Campus buildings. In this way, a total volume of 6,506.00 liters was added, adding all the measurement points during the 10 weeks of analysis, obtaining a weekly average of 650.6 liters. In which, the collection point of Block A of classroom alone, obtained an average of 311.75 liters. In addition, the physico-chemical results showed the following results: 2 samples need attention in regard to Total Coliforms, being above the values allowed; E. coli less than 1 NMP/100 ml, electrical conductivity between 20 and 96 μS/cm, tubing less than 1 UNT, pH between 4.4 and 6.3 and while the apparent color, the samples were below the range Measurement. Based on the significant volume, in the results of the microbiological and physicochemical analyzes, the research shows a satisfactory result so that this effluent is used for gardening, floor washing and toilet flushing of Campus
